Craig Johnson from Johnson Design Company – who recently created and painted a huge mural on the side of Bartell Drugs – has done another one, this time on the side of Time Tunnel Records in Burien.

Johnson is a local graphic designer and muralist who lives in the Hurstwood neighborhood above Burien’s crown jewel, Seahurst Beach.

He enjoys connecting with and designing for the businesses in the community.

His most recent project includes painting a mural for the Burien Pizzeria in Olde Burien and an apartment complex in White Center owned by Trisha Arias of Centro restaurant.

Johnson has just finished a mural project and completed a rebrand for Time Tunnel Records (TTR) in Burien.

Time Tunnel Records is a local record store located on Ambaum Blvd SW at SW 149th Street (map below). Owner Matt Alston is a music enthusiast who enjoys providing the neighborhood with a unique musical experience.

The designer collaborated with TTR on bringing the shop’s vision to life. Johnson’s concept of the power of music can take you back in time or into the future. The project involves painting the storefront to create awareness of the space and rebranding the logo design and signage to communicate the spirit and mood of the record store.

Johnson explained that it was a fantastic experience to work with an incredibly awesome shop while contributing to improving the neighborhood and creating awareness for the local record store. He received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from the Burien community and looks forward to working with more businesses in Burien.
