UPDATE July 16, 2025 3:30 p.m.: The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who was found dead at Burien’s Moshier Park on Tuesday evening, July 15, 2025 as Scott Donald Richard, 62, of Burien.
Richard was pronounced dead at the park, and the cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
The King County Sheriff’s Office is handling the case.
As we previously reported, first responders were dispatched just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, after someone called authorities to request a welfare check at the public park, located in the 4300 block of South 156th Street (map below).
The King County Fire Department responded and provided medical aid at the scene.
Sadly, the man was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
A witness said the man appeared to be sleeping in a truck near the field, but after attempts to wake him failed, they called for help. Responders later worked on him at the scene but got no response.
Everyone at The B-Town Blog/South King Media extends their deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Scott.
