A power outage has affected at least 8,295 Seattle City Light customers in Burien on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
City Light said the outage started at 12:36 p.m., and the cause is under investigation.
UPDATE: As of 3 p.m. the estimated restoration time on the two larger outages has been changed from 4:04 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9.
Boundaries of the outage are widespread, from Gregory Heights on the south to Boulevard Park on the north.
The utility advises customers to monitor its online outage map for real-time updates on restoration efforts.

Ugh, another power outage? I think I’ve had to clean out my fridge 2-3x in the last 2 years due to long power outages. So much $$ & waste for so many families – it makes me sad – especially as food prices continue to increase.
I really hope SCL starts seriously look into making improvements in these parts of Burien because we seem to lose power easily & often. Big thanks to the crews out there working to restore our power. <3
