A power outage has affected at least 8,295 Seattle City Light customers in Burien on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

City Light said the outage started at 12:36 p.m., and the cause is under investigation.

UPDATE: As of 3 p.m. the estimated restoration time on the two larger outages has been changed from 4:04 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9.

Boundaries of the outage are widespread, from Gregory Heights on the south to Boulevard Park on the north.

  1. Ugh, another power outage? I think I’ve had to clean out my fridge 2-3x in the last 2 years due to long power outages. So much $$ & waste for so many families – it makes me sad – especially as food prices continue to increase.

    I really hope SCL starts seriously look into making improvements in these parts of Burien because we seem to lose power easily & often. Big thanks to the crews out there working to restore our power. <3
