The City of Normandy Park is inviting residents to its Arbor Day Celebration this Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Marvista Park, featuring free tree giveaways, environmental education, crafts and more.

This annual community event will include an “Ask the Arborist” station for tree-care questions, a compost giveaway, stormwater education, and a free book exchange where guests are encouraged to bring a book to donate or select one to take home.

Overflow parking will be available at the Marvista School parking lot off Marine View Drive SW.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring their own 5-gallon buckets or bags for the compost giveaway.

“Join for the fun day to celebrate trees in the city,” city officials said. “Don’t forget to bring 5-gallon buckets or bags to collect compost at the Compost Giveaway!”

Other activities include crafts, recycling and waste collection information, a poster contest, live music and more.

All giveaways, including free trees, are available while supplies last.
