A pedestrian died Tuesday morning, Mar. 25, 2025, after falling from an overpass onto the SR 518 freeway in SeaTac, where they were struck by a vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

The incident occurred at approximately 8:46 a.m. Tuesday morning on westbound SR 518 just east of SR 99.

Authorities said the pedestrian was standing on the overpass above the highway when they fell into the second lane of traffic.

A vehicle driven by a 32-year-old man from Kent struck the pedestrian, officials said. The driver was not injured, and two child passengers, ages 10 and 7, were also unharmed.

Sadly, the victim died at the scene.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fall, and the incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m.: After notifying the next-of-kin, Troopers released the identity of the victim as Marinela D. Leroy, 40, of SeaTac.

The collision blocked the roadway for nearly three hours before it was cleared.

Authorities said drugs and alcohol were not involved.
