A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle late Tuesday night, Aug. 6, 2024 in Normandy Park.

The tragic incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the northbound lane of the 17500 block of 1st Avenue South (map below).

Police reported that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Normandy Park Police Officers said there was no evidence of impairment on the part of the driver.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

  1. About time they finish putting sidewalks in down 1st Ave and 4th Ave SW and past St Anne’s on Sylvester it’s so dangerous

    How many will have to die before you’ll put in cross walks for pedestrians from 170th to 177th and 1st Ave?

    1. This roadway is managed by the state, they make decisions on crosswalks and traffic control. That is your answer, WSDOT has been asked for more than a decade for improvements. Make an effort to understand the complexity of this corridor and put your efforts into the right agencies.
