Courtesy Elston Hill comes these great photos, all taken from his viewpoint in Burien.
The first is a strange-looking ship that came down south along Burien’s shores on Monday (Feb. 26), then made a U-turn and traveled north along Vashon Island. Turns out it’s a US Army Corps of Engineer ship called the MV Puget, a debris recovery vessel for the Seattle District.
The ship collects and removes debris that may be determined to be obstructions to navigation or that may promote flooding. On the bow of the ship one can see some of the debris collected on Monday. And one can also see that the crane is in the act of scooping up additional debris.
