EDITOR’S NOTE: South King Media Founder/Publisher Scott Schaefer serves on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce.
The Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce this week was named the 2026 Company of the Year Awards winner in the Chamber of Commerce category, presented through the Excellence Awards.
The annual awards highlight standout organizations across the region that display strong leadership, innovation, and community dedication.
Judges selected the Seattle Southside Chamber in recognition of its continued membership growth, regional leadership, and sustained work creating economic opportunities for local employers and communities across South King County, including Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, and Tukwila.
“This recognition reflects far more than the work of any one person,” said Samantha Le, President/CEO of the Seattle Southside Chamber. “It represents the collective leadership of our Board, the dedication of our staff, the trust of our members and partners, and the impact we are working every day to create throughout the Seattle Southside.”
Over the past several years, the chamber has expanded its programming, enlarged its member base, and deepened its footprint as a regional convener, advocate, and resource hub for businesses in the region.
Chamber officials credited that steady progress to committed board members, active local partners, and a shared regional focus on inclusive economic growth.
“Over the last several years, our organization has grown significantly, not only in membership and programs, but in the role we play as a convener, advocate, resource, and partner for businesses and communities throughout South King County,” Le said. “That growth has only been possible because we have a Board that believes deeply in our mission and continues to challenge, support, and champion this organization.”
