Local Artist Dan Wend’s streetfront Art exhibit – Art On The Street – is now on display at Merrill Gardens at Burien’s windows located at the intersection of 4th Ave SW and SW 151st Street, just one block north of the Burien Library.
Wend’s “Tangents” exhibit will be available for viewing through December, 2024.
Wend’s artwork spans five large street-facing windows at Merrill Gardens, giving passersby a unique opportunity to enjoy his vibrant pieces from the sidewalk.
“My artistic expressions have been inspired by a desire to learn, explore, and discover new ideas and concepts,” Wend said. “The natural sciences are often at the core of many of my works and my art is an outgrowth of my fascination with that world. I am continually motivated to learn new things about the world, be a more careful observer, and engage with nature, humanity, and the sciences as I interpret my world through art.”

In addition to Wend’s art, you can also enjoy “Imaginary Landscapes” at the same location by painter Natalia Elaine Fialkoff.
The Burien Downtown Art Project is a collaboration of Burien Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services, along with Merrill Gardens.
