Skunk Works Robotics, a local FIRST Robotics team, will host an Open House on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. in an effort to recruit high school students for its upcoming season.

The open house is geared toward students interested in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), as well as those curious about joining the team’s business and marketing divisions. Parents are also encouraged to attend.

Skunk Works Robotics offers hands-on opportunities in computer-aided design (CAD), physics, mechanics, prototyping, 3D printing, programming and building circuit boards. Business-side roles include managing social media, fundraising, event planning, graphic design and public speaking.

The team, which competes in the international FIRST Robotics Competition, aims to provide students with practical skills in a collaborative, competitive environment.

“FIRST Robotics is a great way to learn new skills in a fun and competitive atmosphere, and Skunk Works is the perfect place to do it,” the team said in a statement.
