So much can happen in a year. Babies can be born, people can get married or divorced, and businesses can die or start up and flourish.

Decidedly on the flourish side, Piacere Trattoria has become a favorite haunt for those who seek Italian dining with some elevated cuisine touches.

Now, owners Michele and Jeanette Godina invite you to come celebrate their one year anniversary operating in Burien on Saturday April 1, 2023 from 4 p.m. until closing with a very special offer. Come visit and they will provide a complimentary refreshment. Come toast their success and wish them “many more happy years in Burien.”

Within their charming and romantic space you can enjoy an authentic Italian meal lovingly prepared by Chef Michele Godina inspired by recipes handed down for generations in his family. Other important influences are his extensive training in Italy and work in America including Miami and California. A dedication to fresh ingredients and seasonal offerings mean that dining at Piacere is never the same old/same old. There are always new flavors to discover and enjoy.

Michele fires up a wonderful Cacio ‘e Pepe Tagliolini at Piacere Trattoria.

We were fortunate to visit early in their launch when a decided favorite on their menu was the Cacio ‘e Pepe. This dish features house made Tagliolini and a table side show, as the delicate pasta is swirled within a melting cheese wheel courtesy of a chef’s torch. With speed, dexterity and a flavorful sprinkling of fresh ground pepper, the Roman culinary gem emerges from the wheel, is twirled onto the plate and ready to take you to a richly satisfying “paradiso del formaggio.” Upon a later visit, we noticed it was no longer on the menu, and hoped it would make a re-appearance. Thank heavens it is ba-aack! Come taste for yourself.

If dairy is not your jam, that’s cool, because you will find lots more to choose from, including classic lasagna, lobster ravioli, a decadent truffle risotto, juicy ribeye, veal or seafood selections. For what Michele calls a “small”restaurant, the menu is big on choices.

Be sure to save room for dessert, which is equally full of choices to please including chocolate, fruit, or exotic flavor fans. Can’t decide? Give the Trio of Tiramisu, Zabaglione and Profiteroles a try.

Piacere Trattoria is a great place for a special dinner or fun happy hour with the girls. They have convenient parking after 5 p.m. in the Key Bank parking lot, and when the better weather permits, you can enjoy sidewalk dining.

Come celebrate their first year in Burien on April 1 or visit weekdays after 5 p.m., or 4 p.m. on the weekends.

The warm hospitality of Italy awaits!
