The Vashon Heritage Museum will present a special screening of the award-winning short film The Maury Island Incident on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Vashon Theatre.
The event will feature a post-screening talk with filmmakers Steve Edmiston and Scott Schaefer, offering attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film and its exploration of the infamous 1947 UFO incident near Maury Island.
The story – based on declassified FBI documents – delves into one of the earliest UFO sightings and first-ever Men in Black encounters in 1947, sparking intrigue and conspiracy theories that endure to this day.
Tickets for the event are available at $10 for students, seniors, and museum members, and $15 for general admission.
Proceeds will benefit the Vashon Heritage Museum, supporting its mission to preserve and share local history.
