A water rescue response in Burien’s Three Tree Point neighborhood Sunday night, Aug. 23 turned out to be nothing more than drifting wood in Puget Sound, according to King County Fire District No. 2.
Eight units were dispatched to the 6:30 p.m. call in the 3000 block of SW 171st Street, including engines, aid units, water rescue crews, Boat 328 and King County marine resources, according to dispatch information.
Firefighters and other crew members responded to the scene, and Boat 328 was launched.
But luckily, no rescue was needed.
“This ended up being nothing more than a couple pieces of driftwood traversing the open waters of the Sound,” Ray Desmarais, assistant chief and fire marshal for King County Fire District No. 2, told The B-Town Blog.
