The Three Tree Point Yacht Club will be hosting its annual Duwamish Head Race this Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, as part of a historic sailboat regatta series in the South Puget Sound.

The race will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Des Moines Marina fishing pier and cover a 31-mile course to Seattle, Bainbridge Island, and back to Des Moines.

Spectators can enjoy prime views of the race start from the Des Moines fishing pier, with the fleet of 65 sailboats expected to pass Three Tree Point around 11 a.m., and Alki Point around Noon.

This 31-mile race is the second in a four-part series hosted by various yacht clubs in the region, continuing a tradition that has spanned over 40 years.

Competitors and spectators alike look forward to the series, which showcases the best of local sailing talent and scenic views of sailboats on south Puget Sound.

The regatta promises an exciting day for sailing enthusiasts and spectators.

For those unable to catch the action in person, updates will be available through the Three Tree Point Yacht Club’s website and Facebook page.
