Two sisters were arrested early Saturday morning, Mar. 22, 2025, after separate confrontations with police outside a business in Tukwila, including one in which officers recovered a loaded handgun from a convicted felon, authorities said.
Tukwila Police said the first incident occurred just after midnight in the 14000 block of Interurban Avenue South, where officers encountered a woman who was screaming and acting belligerently. Police said they attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the woman refused to cooperate or leave the area, even after being given multiple warnings. She was taken into custody and booked into jail.
Shortly afterward, her sister arrived and allegedly displayed similarly hostile and aggressive behavior toward officers, according to police. She also refused to leave and resisted arrest when officers tried to detain her. Police said force was used to take her into custody.
A loaded handgun was found in her possession, police said. The woman, who has previous felony convictions for robbery and theft, is legally barred from possessing a firearm. She was booked into jail for unlawful possession of a firearm.
No injuries were reported. Police did not release the names of the two women.
I wish names of all people arrested for anything that happened in public would be released to the public. Maybe if people knew that their reputations would be tarnished or their arrests were going to be on social media they might reconsider their behavior.
Then, again, I doubt much will change this type of behavior. Our society has definitely seen an increase in lawlessness and vehement disregard for the laws, institutions, and police in the last ten years. All of which can be attributed to the frustrations people experienced with BLM, Covid lockdowns/loss of jobs, a lackluster economy, and two administrations of a man who has normalized bad, disrespectful behaviors at the highest level.
