Innovation Heights Academy student interns will lead a public Earth Day restoration event on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Hilltop Park in Burien in partnership with Dirt Corps, Burien Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, and Highline Public Schools.
Volunteers are needed from Noon – 3 p.m., and this free, all-ages event marks the culmination of the students’ semester-long work in park restoration.
The students will guide participants in hands-on projects such as invasive plant removal and soil preparation, while also presenting the outcomes of their internship efforts.
Tools, materials, and food will be provided for all who attend.
“This public Earth Day restoration is the culmination of their efforts,” organizers said. “They will lead us in various projects throughout the park and present their semester work.”
The event is open to the community, but registration is required.
