The Green Burien Partnership is inviting community members to join a mother and son team in celebrating six months of forest stewardship at Salmon Creek Ravine on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., focusing on the removal of English ivy and other non-native weeds from the ravine.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
The event will start with a morning session dedicated to weed removal, followed by a refreshment break featuring coffee, juice, and donuts.
Event Details:
- WHEN: Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- WHERE: Salmon Creek Ravine, meet at 12550 Shorewood Drive SW, Burien, WA 98146 (map below).
- PARKING: Park to the left of the sewer treatment gates at 12550 Shorewood Drive SW. Please avoid blocking the gates.
What to Bring:
- Dress in layers and wear clothing suitable for getting dirty.
- No sandals or open-toed shoes.
- Bring a reusable water bottle; a water jug will be available for refills.
- Tools and gloves will be provided, with extra gloves available if needed.
Volunteers will meet at the sewer district parking area and wait until 10:05 a.m. before walking to the restoration site, located half a mile up the trail on the right side.
