Volunteers of all ages are needed to help restore North SeaTac Park at a community event scheduled for this coming Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to Noon.

Activities will include planting trees, removing invasive ivy, and digging out blackberry bushes to promote the park’s ecological health and sustainability.

What to Bring

Participants should dress for outdoor work, including wearing sturdy closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, pants, and clothes that can get dirty.

A rain jacket is recommended in case of wet weather.

Work gloves and tools will be provided, though volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves if possible.

Meeting and Parking Information

Volunteers will meet at the parking lot near the northwest corner of the park, located off Des Moines Memorial Drive. Additional parking is available at Sunset Park, 13800 16th Ave S. Attendees using Sunset Park should park along the shoulder of 16th Avenue S., cross S. 136th Street, and look for a white truck and table at the event site.

This event is an opportunity for individuals and families to contribute to their community by supporting the maintenance and restoration of SeaTac’s forests.

Organizers emphasize that activities like these help sustain green spaces for future generations to enjoy.
