Volunteers are needed to join Discover Burien, the City of Burien and the Port of Seattle to beautify Burien’s SW 153rd Street this Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020.

“The SW 153rd Street Enhancement Project is designed to brighten up this portion of downtown with art and planters. Textile designs of various cultures represented in the community of Burien will frame portions of SW 153rd Street to create a vibrant and welcoming destination.”

All ages are welcome to help paint the streets; here’s more info from Discover Burien:

Pick up a paint brush and help color the streets – literally! – with pre-approved design templates selected with the community in mind.

We encourage all ages 14+ and abilities to join us in painting!

If painting isn’t your thing, but you have green thumbs – we need you, too! We’re planting 24 large pots that will line portions of 153rd Street. We need all hands on deck – and in the soil! Gloves and water (for you, not the plants…okay, the plants, too!) will be provided.

All ages are welcome for this one!

Be a part of something inspiring that will help foster creative growth and opportunity right here in Burien!

Volunteers must adhere to strict COVID-19 guidelines in order to participate. We are allowing one familial group per time slot and there are currently 17 time slots available at two-hour intervals between 10am and 5pm.

Please sign up and don’t delay. We are counting on you!
