Discover Burien is inviting residents to volunteer and take part in its annual “Clean Sweep” on Saturday, April 25, aimed at beautifying neighborhoods while bringing people together for a morning of service and fun.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with participants gathering at the Discover Burien office at 611 SW 152nd Street (map below) to register, sign a release and select assigned cleanup areas.
Participants are encouraged to form cleanup crews and register in advance, providing contact information and the number of people in their group. Crews will then head out to designated areas across Burien to collect litter and debris.
Volunteers are asked to bring their own trash bags and gloves, though Discover Burien said additional supplies will be available if needed.
Participants may also bring tools such as rakes or shovels to assist with the cleanup.
Following the event, volunteers can return to the Discover Burien office to receive a free lunch, with both to go and on-site options available, including vegetarian choices.
Organizers will also hold a raffle at 11:30 a.m., with a free bicycle as the featured prize. Participants do not need to be present to win but must stop by the office to obtain a raffle ticket.
“Let’s clean up Burien and have some fun! Thank you for helping this year! We couldn’t do it without you!”
