The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses who may have seen a vehicle being shot at around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 on westbound SR 518 near Des Moines Memorial Drive while driving into Burien.

WSP troopers contacted the victim at the Starbucks on 1st Ave South in Burien who was driving a 2006 Toyota Camry shown in the picture below. The victim stated that a Chevrolet Impala, similar to the one shown below (in the top photo), – driven by an African American male with a bandana covering their mouth – had fired at their vehicle in the area of WB SR 518 and Des Moines Memorial Drive (map below).

The victim also stated that the Chevrolet was previously following them extremely close so they slowed at which time the vehicle pulled up next to them and brandished a handgun. The Chevrolet subsequently pulled back in behind them and fired one shot which struck the right rear wheel well before exiting to Des Moines Memorial Drive at a high rate of speed.

The victim was uninjured and called 911 prior to meeting troopers at the Starbucks.

WSP detectives are seeking any witnesses or information on the suspect or vehicle involved in this incident. Please contact Detective Mauro at (425) 401-7746 or by email at victoria.mauro@wsp.wa.gov.
