The White Center Food Bank will host its annual “Taste of White Center” event on Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., showcasing the neighborhood’s diverse restaurant community while raising funds to support vital food access programs.

More than 30 local eateries — including favorites like Puffy Pandy, Sap Sap Lao Café, El Catrín and Salvadorean Bakery — will participate in the family-friendly festival, offering $5 tastings of items such as bánh mì, tacos, bubble tea, pizza, and desserts.

Attendees will be able to purchase tasting tickets at the event’s central booth, located at 16th Ave SW and 98th Street in downtown White Center (map below).

Event proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit the food bank, while sponsorship dollars help participating restaurants cover food and operational costs.

Each $5 ticket can be exchanged for a small plate, drink, or dessert at participating restaurants.

A printed menu with a map and dish descriptions will be provided to each guest.

Quantities are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event will also include music, a kids’ activity area, vendors, and other family-friendly attractions.

White Center Food Bank has long been a critical resource for South King County. In 2024, the organization served more than 13,600 individuals and distributed over 1.6 million pounds of food, with services available in nine languages and outreach extending to seniors, infants, and culturally diverse communities.
