Three fire engines and a Battalion Chief were sent to a large grass fire at Southern Heights Park in north Burien Monday afternoon, July 9.
Southern Heights Park, located at 12025 14th Avenue S. (map below), is owned by the local water district and is operated by the City of Burien. The park features an open lawn area as well as a playground for ages 2-5.
Cause of the fire is under investigation by the King County Fire Investigation Unit.
