An off-ramp on SR 509 in Burien will close overnight over the next two weeks as a regional project sealing cracks and repairing pavement completes work.

The northbound SR 509 off-ramp to S. 160th Street in Burien will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, to 4:30 a.m. Thursday, May 9.

A signed detour will be available using SR 518 to loop around.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will also close:

  • The Northeast 160th Street on-ramp to northbound I-405 in Bothell from 9 p.m. Sunday, May 5, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 6. A signed detour will be available using SR 522 and looping around at 132nd Avenue Northeast.
  • The northbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 160th Street in Bothell from 9 p.m. Monday, May 6, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 7. A signed detour will be available using Northeast 195th Street to loop around.
  • The Northeast 128th Street on-ramp to the northbound I-405 express toll lanes in Kirkland from 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 8. A signed detour will be available to the Northeast 124th Street on-ramps to northbound I-405.
  • The southbound I-405 off-ramp to SR 181/Interurban Avenue South/West Valley Highway from 9 p.m. Sunday, May 12, to 4:30 a.m. Monday, May 13. A signed detour will be available using Southcenter Boulevard.

All work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled. The five ramps are the last of 24 in King and Snohomish counties to receive repairs this spring. Repairs also were made along a 5-mile stretch of SR 18 last fall. The work will create a smoother ride and extend the lifespan of the pavement.
