As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to upend the holiday plans of millions of Americans, the traditional family Thanksgiving meal may look very different for families in King County.

Local auto dealership Legend Auto Sales is partnering with Burien’s local PCC Community Market to provide packaged Thanksgiving meals for Burien residents who need them.

“This is our way to give back to a community who has given so much to us over the years,” said Alona Moskalenko, Legend Auto Sales Chief Operating Officer.

Each meal serves 2, and consists of sliced roasted turkey with gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled green beans and cranberry sauce – prepared entirely at Burien PCC. They will be available for pickup from the dealership from Saturday, Nov. 21 to Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020.

Whether Burien residents are staying home due to travel restrictions, or are financially strapped, Moskalenko hopes the meals can allow families to enjoy Thanksgiving just a bit more this year.

“We’re a family-run business, we know the importance of taking time around the table at Thanksgiving to give thanks for what we have,” Moskalenko said.

As a local business in Burien for over 12 years, Legend Auto Sales has a direct connection to the community and a history of service. Earlier this year, the dealership organized a highway cleanup project on Washington State Route 509 with the help of community volunteers.

Anyone interested in picking up a meal can stop into the Legend Auto Sales dealership, located on 1st Avenue across from the Burien Plaza. No purchase is necessary, no questions asked. Families are allowed to collect up to 3 packaged meals.
