The 17th Annual Korean-American Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

“On behalf of more than 160,000 people of Korean descent residing in Washington State, the Washington State Korean-American Day Celebration Foundation cordially invites you to our 17th Annual Korean-American Day Celebration,” organizers said.

January 13th was designated as Korean American Day by the State Legislature and Governor Christine Gregoire in April, 2007.

The first Korean immigrants came to Hawaii on labor contracts to work in sugar plantations.

Today, Korean Americans contribute to the vitality of the local economy and participate actively in all aspects of social, political, and cultural life.

“It is our privilege to invite you to join us in commemorating the 17th Washington State Korean-American Day and help us celebrate the contributions of the Korean American community in Washington State.”
