From our friends at WABI Burien:

On Wednesday, October 15, at 9 a.m., the WABI Weekday Walkers will gather at the Tukwila Sounders Train Station and walk through Longacres Natural Area.

From 1933 to 1992, the land was home to the Longacres Racetrack, the center of thoroughbred racing in western Washington. When the race track closed, the area was redeveloped into a Boeing office park. More recently, it has been converted into a lovely forested area with ponds, wildlife, and walking paths. All are welcome to join us!

The 158-acre site is adjacent to the new Seattle Sounders training facility and practice fields. It offers opportunities for birding and enjoying a wooded stroll in a beautiful fall landscape. The loop walk will take us on a flat, paved pathway through Longacres as well as a segment of the Springbrook trail that borders the Black River.

The walk is approximately 2.25 miles and will take about one hour.
Please note that, unfortunately, pets are not allowed along the trails of this walk.

We will meet at the Tukwila Sounders Train Station, gathering at the foot of the stairs to the train platform. Parking is available in the station parking lot.

Date: WEDNESDAY, October 15, 2025
Time:  Meet 5-10 minutes before 9:00 so we can start walking promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Meeting Place: Tukwila Sounders Station, 7301S Longacres Way, Tukwila, WA 98057
