Auditions are now open for summer shows at Hi-Liners Musical Theatre!

Matilda the Musical and Finding Nemo KIDS

Lights, camera, audition! Hi-Liners Musical Theatre is excited to announce open auditions in May for two exciting summer musicals: Roald Dahl’s “Matilda the Musical” and Disney’s “Finding Nemo KIDS”.

Auditions are open to aspiring performers from ages 7 through 22. 

Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical

Based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl, Matilda the Musical is a heartwarming tale of courage, wit, and the power of imagination. With unforgettable music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, this Tony Award-winning musical is sure to captivate audiences of all ages. The show, which is our MainStage production of the year, will be a full-length musical with detailed sets and costumes.

  • Open to ages: 9-22
  • Audition: Video submissions due by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17
  • Callbacks and dance auditions: May 23  
  • Performances: July 26-28 and August 2-4

Disney-PIXAR Finding Nemo Kids

Dive into an underwater adventure with “Finding Nemo KIDS,” a delightful musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar classic. With new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, “Finding Nemo KIDS” tells the story of Marlin, an overprotective clownfish who lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his son, Nemo, who longs to explore the world. 

  • Open to ages: 7-14
  • Auditions: Thursday, May 16
  • Callbacks and dance auditions: Thursday, May 16
  • Performances: Aug. 23-25

Registration is required to audition. Visit to register, get audition requirements and tips, rehearsal dates, and more. Auditions and rehearsals for both shows will be held at Highline College in Des Moines, and all performances will take place at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.
