A head-on, two vehicle collision happened at the intersection of SW 122nd and Ambuam Blvd. SW in Burien Friday afternoon, injuring two and blocking the street for several hours, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Both drivers have been transported to hospitals – one to Harborview and the other to Highline. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
King County Major Accident Investigators are on scene investigating.
Ambaum has been blocked from the 11800 to 12400 block for several hours, and as of 7:30 p.m., “at least another hour or so,” according to Deputy B.J. Myers.

Cops are not doing a good job of directing traffic. Actually no job and half the cars are being sent down a no outlet side street only to have to turn around and start over. I just got trapped in it but now I’m home safe. Hope everyone is okay.
This is the only thing about the accident I’ve found so far, not on news or anything. 🙁 My bus went past the accident around 4:30, it looked terrible. The car that was on the sidewalk was smashed in on the side, and at that time, there were people still in the vehicle. Hope they are all ok. That is a terrible intersection…
What kind of vehicles were involved?
Yes, everyone that had to go left instead of straight on Ambaum should have been directed to go to 4th, not turn right on 12th because it still leads to Ambaum, which was still closed. I hope everyone is all right. I saw an accident near there last week too. I hate that part of Ambaum.
The red car appeared to be ‘T-Boned’ by white one. It was a bit difficult to tell which direction the cars were going, but the impact on the red car crumpled it all the way across the passenger’s side. The fellow in the red car did not appear bloody, but didn’t look good either. The lady in the white car wasn’t visibly injured but appeared quite traumatized by the whole event. Her airbag had deployed, so I suspect she was banged around a bit less.
