Burien Actors Theatre announced Tuesday (Jan. 28) that their next production, which runs Feb. 21 through March 23 – “Noises Off” – is ON! But…because of the Dec. 10 arson fire at the Burien Annex (read our extensive coverage here), the show must move to a new location. “It is not easy finding a space with a high enough ceiling for a 16-foot plus high set, especially here in Burien,” reads an announcement. “But BAT has found a space, IF, and that is a big if, BAT can come up with $10,000 for rent. Yes, that’s big, but it is less than remodeling other spaces to meet codes. Just a few more things to get approved, and BAT can move in.” BAT is trying to negotiate a lower price, but there is no guarantee that the out-of-State-owners of the space will see the community good, or love arts enough, to lower the rent. Keep in mind the owners are already doing a lot by making the space available. If you can help BAT raise the rent, please donate online HERE or mail a check to BAT, P.O. Box 48121, Burien, WA 98148.]]>
