The Burien City Council will convene a Special Meeting on Monday, April 13, at 5:30 p.m., with an Executive Session focused on potential legal matters, according to the city’s published agenda.

The meeting will be held both in-person at Burien City Hall and virtually via Zoom, providing options for public access.

However, once it goes into executive session, it will not be a public meeting.

According to the agenda, the primary item is:

“Executive Session per RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)(iii) to discuss litigation or legal risks of a proposed action or current practice that the agency has identified when public discussion of the litigation or legal risks is likely to result in an adverse legal or financial consequence to the agency, with potential action to follow.”

The meeting will begin with standard procedures including a call to order, pledge of allegiance and roll call before moving into the executive session.

The agenda does not indicate that Public Comment will be allowed during this meeting.

No additional public business items are listed on the special meeting agenda.
