People can anonymously surrender unwanted firearms and receive gift cards during a drive-through gun buyback event Saturday, Oct. 17, in Burien.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to Noon at King County Sheriff’s Office Precinct 4 (map below), according to the Burien Police Department.
Gift card amounts will vary based on the type of firearm surrendered, police said.
The event is being held in partnership with Public Health Seattle & King County’s Regional Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
Burien police said the event is intended to provide a safe way for people to remove unwanted firearms from their homes and reduce the possibility that the weapons could reach someone who should not have access to them.
“We hope to see you there!” police said.
