Burien Parks announced Friday that the Burien Off Leash Dog Park on 5th Ave SW will be closed through Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 for cleaning and sanitizing.

A crew will be disinfecting Burien’s first off-leash dog park on Saturday, Nov. 14, and removing all bowls and toys from the park.

The reason apparently is NOT COVID-19 related – these are preventative measures being taken due to a local outbreak of kennel cough (canine infectious tracheobronchitis), a highly contagious respiratory disease in dogs.

The nearest off-leash dog park alternative is the Grandview Off-Leash Dog Park located at 3600 S. 228th Street in SeaTac.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
