At about 5:10 a.m. on Monday morning, April 10, 2023, Burien Police / King County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the 14400 block of Des Moines Memorial Drive South on the Burien/SeaTac border for a suspicious vehicle that was blocking the road.
Police said that the driver was passed out behind the wheel, and when deputies attempted to contact the driver, the vehicle tried to flee and, in the process, struck a Deputy.
The vehicle was stopped a short distance away, and the driver was taken into custody.
The Deputy who was struck was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with non-life-threatening injuries.
The King County MARR unit is investigating.
