Burien residents who seek a breath (or two) of fresh air will have an opportunity to receive free air purifiers during a distribution event hosted by the City of Burien and several community partners on Thursday, June 18.
According to organizers, the giveaway will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Burien City Hall, located at 400 SW 152nd Street (map below).
The City of Burien is partnering with Eco Infinity Nation, King County Public Health, Neighborhood House, Integrated Public Services and the Seattle Indian Business Association, known as SIBA, to distribute the air purifiers.
Organizers said air purifiers will be available to Burien residents on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
As a condition of receiving an air purifier, participants must complete a five minute proctored survey, according to event organizers.
The program is intended to assist Burien residents affected by air pollution and is being offered through a collaborative effort involving local government, public health agencies and community organizations.
