A Peaceful Vigil/Protest organized by the Burien Youth Council will be held this Saturday, June 6, 2020, starting at 1 p.m. at Burien Skateboard Park, located at 14549 4th Ave SW (map below).
Protestors will march from the park to the library/City Hall area, where they will have speakers and a resource booth.
This event is being spearheaded by youth within Burien, who will also have volunteers on hand to ensure social distancing is also a priority for those in attendance.
The second event will be held via Zoom, when the Burien Youth Council hosts workshops/discussions as a series of different topics. The first of the series will be held on “White Fragility” on Monday, June 8, 2020.
I will be attending the peaceful demonstration in #Burien on Saturday.
Social justice must be a pillar of every decision made in any organization and society, whether it be government, business, or religious organizations.
