Burien’s annual Strawberry Festival is set to return to Burien Town Square Park this weekend – Saturday and Sunday, June 14–15, 2025 – offering a weekend packed with family-friendly activities, food, music and community celebration.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Burien Town Square, and continues on Sunday with the Father’s Day Car Show and the new B-Town Derby.

A petting zoo will be featured on Saturday, and live music will be playing throughout both days.

The event also includes a kids’ area and dozens of vendor booths lining the square.

The Strawberry Festival has long been one of Burien’s most beloved community events, drawing families from across the region.

Kick-off with Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

Kick-off the Burien Strawberry Festival with the Burien Pancake Breakfast, by Highline Kiwanis, at the Burien Fire Station (900 SW 146th Street) this Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 8 to 11:30 a.m..

Cost is only a donation of $10 (kids 5 & under free)!

There will be Pancakes, Strawberries, Black Forest Ham, Coffee and Orange Juice and assorted baskets for a raffle.

What cooler way to say “Thanks, Pops!” than spending a day outside with your Dad checking out cool cars?

“Join us for a day filled with classic cars, sleek rides, and plenty of family fun,” organizers said. “From vintage muscle cars to modern marvels, there’s something for every automotive enthusiast to admire.”

Stroll through rows of meticulously maintained vehicles, chat with proud owners, and snap photos of your favorites.

The Strawberry Festival will also be happening, with food vendors serving up delicious treats, music to set the mood, and activities for the kids.

B-Town Derby: Build. Race. Celebrate!

A KID-FRIENDLY RACE DAY AT THE FATHER’S DAY CAR SHOW

Get ready for the ultimate hands-on fun! This Father’s Day, join us at the annual Father’s Day Car Show for a special event just for kids—The B-Town Derby! Kids will build their own “pinewood derby car” and compete for glory on race day. Best of all? It’s completely free—just sign up, build your car, and show up ready to race!

How It Works

  1. B-Town Derby is open to kids up to age 15
  2. Pick up your free pinewood derby car kit at one of our community locations (dates below).
  3. Sign a Derby Commitment Form to promise you’ll race your derby car on Father’s Day.
  4. Build your pinewood derby car at home—or join us at the Makerspace for help on select dates (see below).
  5. Race your custom-built car on Father’s Day, June 15, during the Father’s Day Car Show!

Kit Pickup Dates & Locations

Pinewood Car kits are limited at each location to help ensure availability across all dates. Each child may receive one kit only.

  • Thursday, June 12Burien Farmers Market (10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.)

Need Help With Your Car?

Bring your kit to the Makerspace! Friendly volunteers will be on hand to help kids assemble their pinewood derby cars and get them race-ready.

Kit Assembly Days at Makerspace, located underneath the Discover Burien offices at 611 SW 152nd (lower level – enter through alley).

  • June 14
  • Come during OPEN hours of the Makerspace (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

Painting stations available at Miller Paints – details provided when you pickup your kit.


Race Day: Father’s Day Derby

Sunday, June 15 at the Father’s Day Car Show:

  • 10 a.m.: Check-In Opens for B-Town Derby
  • Race Heats will be organized by age group and announced on race day!

Voting for the Best Looking Car!

All B-Town Derby cars will be on display during the Father’s Day Car Show, and attendees will get to cast their vote for the Best-Looking Car!

Every kid’s creation has a chance to shine—so bring your A-game with style, color, and creativity! The car with the most votes will take home a special People’s Choice prize.
