A felony property crime investigation led Tukwila Police to a residence in the 4400 block of South 185th Street in SeaTac (map below) on Tuesday morning, June 10, 2025, prompting a SWAT response and precautionary notification to a nearby school.

Police said the incident stemmed from a crime that occurred several hours earlier in Tukwila.

Detectives identified a connection between the case and the SeaTac residence, and a judge subsequently approved a search warrant.

Due to the home’s proximity to Chinook Middle School and a history of prior law enforcement activity at the location, Tukwila Police notified Highline Public Schools before deploying officers and detectives.

One individual inside the residence was detained after what police described as a “prolonged negotiation” to get him to come out voluntarily.

Afterward, Valley SWAT cleared the residence to ensure no other occupants were present.

Once the scene was secured, Tukwila’s Major Crimes Unit executed the warrant.

The investigation remains ongoing.
