EDITOR’S NOTE: Cass Huff is a 13-year old special needs student at Burien’s Sylvester Middle School. She is also our newest columnist… by Cass Huff Hey B-Town Readers! So, I have already done two blogs this month which is what I normally do. But I experienced a fantastic example of Christmas kindness that I had to share with you. This last weekend, my family and I spent the night downtown like we do every year. Sunday morning, we went out to breakfast and I still had to do some Christmas shopping. So my grandma took me and my little sister to Pike Place Market. I had some money to spend on other people and also some money to spend on myself. We were looking around at all the different stands. I saw a woman selling bracelets with certain sayings or words engraved in them. I saw one that caught my eye. It was silver and it said BALANCE, HEALING, FAITH my grandma and I started talking about how it would be perfect for me to wear for surgery and stuff like that. “How much is this one?” I asked, gesturing to the silver bracelet. “That one is $45,” the lady answered kindly. “But the copper and the gold ones are only $39 and they have the same engraving on them!” She then pulled out the same gold and copper bracelets and asked me which ones I liked. I pointed to the copper one and she put it on my wrist and fitted it. “I really like this one,” I said smiling. She paused for a moment and said “I’ll take $30 for it.” “Really?” I asked, bewildered. She nodded. I only had twenty dollar bills. So I took two of them out and handed them two her. She held the twenty dollar bills in her hand and stared at them. As if she was pondering something. “Do you know what?” she asked, still staring at the bills in her hands. “I’m only going to charge you $20 for it. And don’t worry about tax. Merry Christmas!” She handed one of the bills back to me. I froze. I didn’t know how to react. I thanked her continuously and wished her a Merry Christmas. This was such an amazing random act of kindness that I just had to share it with you. Please comment down below if you have experienced or done a random act of kindness because I would love to hear it!! I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!! IMG_7883 Happy Holidays!!
