Last night at dinner the most interesting gentleman sat down next to me.
He had on a really nice wool coat, a beautiful watch, cowboy boots, and hat.
I was drawn to talk to him.

His name is Lee Hottell.
He lives in Boulevard Park and has been a Burienite for over 50 years.
He went to Sealth High School and at one time was a bartender at The Shaft (now The Point).
He retired from Real Estate with Coldwell Banker Del Bianco, and is enjoying his retirement.
He likes to stop by Smarty Pants for a couple of beers. He reminded me of an old western because when he came in, he opened his wallet and put down a $20 bill as they do in the movies. He must be a regular because they automatically brought him a beer. He is also a regular at Angelos. He thinks Burien is a nice retirement area.
His girlfriend is CiCi who is famous in Burien for her former business Cici’s Lounge (now closed) and her musical talents. Did you know she once played with Lawrence Welk?
His family had racehorses that used to race at LongAcres. Their horse, Family Occasion once came in from 21 lengths back and won $100,000! They no longer keep racehorses but have fond memories of it.
Every now and then you see someone, and you just think “I wanna know their story.” He was such a gentleman, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him over a beer.]]>
