The City of Burien has hired Casey Headley as its new Finance Director, with her tenure having begun Dec. 2, 2024.
She succeeds Eric Christensen, who left to serve at SCORE Jail.
Headley transitions to this role from her previous position as Finance Manager for the City of Albany, Oregon.
Headley earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on accounting from Eastern Oregon University. She has further enhanced her expertise through ongoing education and training in leadership and governmental accounting.
Expressing her enthusiasm for her new role in B-Town, Headley remarked:
“Burien is a gem, close to the Puget Sound, with a community-oriented vibe, and lots of fantastic dining options.”
Addressing the city’s recent developments, she added:
“Burien has experienced significant growth in recent years, bringing both opportunities and challenges. My top priority is to collaborate with our team and councilmembers to guide this growth in a way that enhances sustainability, supports economic vitality, and improves the overall quality of life for all residents.”
Headley aims to achieve these objectives by “managing the funding sources efficiently and educating the community in what it takes to provide services to support their goals and mitigate risk. I also aim to foster a strong leadership team which collaborates effectively, supports all City staff, and builds positive relationships with peers and community.”
