Mia Su-Ling Gregerson led the certified results in the Aug. 4, 2026, primary election for Legislative District 33, Position No. 2, while Burien City Councilmember Alex Andrade finished third and did not place in the top two.

Gregerson, who prefers the Democratic Party, received 13,795 votes, or 53.30%, according to the certified election results. Yuri Marinchik, who prefers the Republican Party, finished second with 6,317 votes, or 24.41%.

Andrade, who also prefers the Democratic Party, received 5,717 votes, or 22.09%, according to the Aug. 18 certified results. She lost to Marinchick by 600 votes, or 2.32%.

Gregerson will face Marinchik in the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.

The results are locally significant for Burien voters because Andrade continued her role in Position 6 on the Burien City Council while seeking the 33rd District House seat. Her term started Jan. 1, 2024, and ends Dec. 31, 2027, according to her City of Burien councilmember page.

We reached out to Andrade for comment or a concession statement, but she did not respond.

Legislative District 33 includes parts of east Burien, SeaTac, Des Moines, Kent, Normandy Park, Tukwila and Renton.

Burien had 34.04% turnout for the Aug. 4 primary. Statewide, voter turnout was 37%.
