A fire that was described by crews as an “outbuilding with lots of debris in a complex of abandoned buildings” burned at S. 128th Street and 16th Ave S. in Burien (map/911 dispatch call below) on Friday morning, Mar. 29, 2024.

Multiple units responded to the blaze, which was responded to at around 8:24 a.m.

This was a defensive operation, meaning no firefighters entered any structures for fire attack.

Crews worked to extinguish the flames from the building’s exterior.

The origin and cause investigation is being conducted by the King County Fire Investigation Unit, with the final report still outstanding pending completion.
