A house fire displaced eight people at a home located at 12101 7th Place SW in Burien on Thursday morning, Mar. 9, 2023, and the Red Cross is assisting.

Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a residence at around 4:38 a.m. to find it fully engulfed in flames.

All residents at the home were outside and safe when fire crews arrived on scene.

At one point the large blaze spread to an area around the house, but crews quickly doused the flames to keep it from advancing.

Here are more details courtesy the King County Fire District No. 2:

“4:38 a.m. residential fire called in by one occupant in the home. One passerby and two neighbors.

“Crews arrived to a heavily involved fire and began extinguishment.

“Occupants of the home on scene at the time of arrival notified fire crews everyone was out.

“The investigation is ongoing to determine origin and cause of the fire.

“And because of the extent of damage to the structural members of the home the investigation has progressed at a safe speed for all parties involved.

“Fire crews will be on scene through tomorrow because of hard to access hot spots in the home. Heavy fire load inside the home (contents) led to rampant fire spread before fire crews were dispatched.”
