Local business nonprofit Discover Burien announced this week it is deeply saddened by recent acts of vandalism targeting Pride Flags displayed throughout the town, and is seeking sponsors for future ones.
As we previously reported, numerous Pride Flags were stolen last weekend in Downtown Burien, and surveillance video shows the thieves in action.
“These flags, symbolizing our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and love, represent the strength and unity of our community,” organizers said. “Our goal is to ensure that these symbols of pride and acceptance continue to fly high, undeterred by acts of intolerance.”
In response to the vandalism, Discover Burien has launched an ongoing sponsorship program to ensure that these symbols of pride and acceptance continue to be prominently displayed.
Sponsorship costs just $25 per flag.
“If you would like to sponsor a pride flag or learn more about how you can support this initiative, please visit our sponsorship page.”
Discover Burien emphasized its dedication to championing a message of love, acceptance, and equality. The organization expressed gratitude for the community’s unwavering support in these efforts.
“Together, we will continue to champion a message of love, acceptance, and equality. Thank you for your unwavering support.”
The local nonprofit 501(c)(3) service organization was founded in 2002 by a passionate and dedicated group of business owners who wanted to be part of growing the success of our community.
