Noah Ball has been named the first winner of the Tony Hayes Culinary Arts Scholarship, administered through the Highline High School Alumni Foundation officials announced this week.
Ball will immediately begin a paid internship at Classic Eats, the Olde Burien restaurant owned by Tony Hayes, and intends to continue his education at a culinary institute, the foundation said.
The scholarship also includes $4,000 in tuition support.
The scholarship is one of several offered by the Highline High School Alumni Foundation.
Requirements included:
- A 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Completion of two written questions
- Description of the candidate’s plans to continue in culinary arts
- A letter of recommendation from a Highline teacher
- A high school transcript
- A resume
- An activity log
Hayes is a Highline graduate and as we previously reported, was named the 2025 Alumnus of the Year.
