The Highline High School Pirates football team suffered a narrow defeat on Friday night, Sept. 20, 2024, falling to the Interlake High Saints in a close away game by a score of 35-28.

The hard-fought, back-and-forth game took place under the lights at Interlake in Bellevue, with both teams delivering strong performances on offense.

The Pirates kept the game competitive throughout, trading touchdowns with Interlake in a tight contest that was tied 21-21 with just 6 minutes left, resulting in a 28-28 tie at the end of regulation.

However, Interlake managed to pull ahead at the end, securing the decisive touchdown in the final minutes.

With this loss, the Pirates fall to a 1-2 record in the KingCo 3A conference, and will look to bounce back in their next away game against the Issaquah Eagles on Friday night, Sept. 27.
