The Kennedy Catholic High Lancers lost in the second round of the WIAA 4A state varsity football tournament to Lake Stevens by a score of 44-21 on Friday night, Nov. 17, 2023.
The win-or-go-home playoff game was played at Lake Stevens home field, but sadly the matchup was was pretty much over by halftime as the Vikings had a 44-0 lead at the break.
The Lancers didn’t give up though, and scored 21 points in the final quarter.
Lake Stevens and Kennedy have a bit of a rivalry, as the Vikings won last year’s WIAA heartbreaking state championship game by a close score of 24-22.
Kennedy finished the 2023 season with an impressive overall 10-2 record under first-year Coach Pat Jones.
