The man killed in an early Sunday shooting in Burien has been identified as Marquise O. Johnson-Goldsmith, 26, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Coroners determined that Johnson-Goldsmith died from a gunshot wound to the neck.

The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide and listed the injury location as a parking lot at 15304 First Ave South (map below).

As we previously reported, Burien Police officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at that location at approximately 4 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25.

A third party drove Johnson-Goldsmith to St. Anne Hospital, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Police described the shooting as a “contained event” and said there was no danger to the public.

The agency’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

Everyone at South King Media extends their deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Marquise.
