Local firefighters from South King County will join a strike team to help battle the ongoing, devastating wildfires in Southern California.

The team includes contributions from the following local fire departments:

  • 2 engines from Puget Sound Fire
  • 1 engine company from Seattle Fire
  • 1 engine from South King Fire & Rescue
  • 1 engine from Valley Regional Fire Authority
  • Command vehicle from Eastside Fire & Rescue

The wildfires have caused significant destruction and displacement, prompting fire departments across the country to assist with containment and rescue efforts.

“Our hearts are with all those being affected by these devastating fires,” the City of Kent said in a statement, adding that they look forward to the safe return of firefighters.
